Crew and equipment working at the water’s edge

Safety

Safe work begins with the plan.

Every R.R. Cassidy employee has the authority to stop work when conditions are unsafe. That responsibility applies on land, over water and inside operating electrical facilities.

Before work begins

Account for the site, the task and the crew.

A site-specific emergency action plan is established before mobilization. Foremen conduct a daily job hazard analysis with the crew, and changing conditions require the plan to be reviewed.

Employees complete new-hire and client orientation, with qualifications matched to their assignments.

Field practices

A program built into the work.

Plan the task

Site-specific emergency planning, daily job hazard analysis and coordination of access, equipment and work boundaries.

Qualify the crew

Training and qualification for assigned work, including crane and rigging operations, marine work and energized environments.

Review and correct

Field observations, stop-work authority and incident review, with corrective actions incorporated into the work plan.

Training

Documented qualifications.

Our training program includes OSHA 10 and 30, first aid and CPR, crane and rigging qualifications, and competent-person training for applicable work.

Electrical apprentices receive field and classroom instruction through a registered substation electrician apprenticeship.
